The All-Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) is a ground-based assault vehicle that walks on two multi-jointed legs. These were a common sight in the Star Wars universe during the Galactic Civil War and were frequently deployed by the Galactic Empire during ground assaults against Rebel encampments. The AT-ST has earned the colloquial name of "chicken walker" due to its shape and shuddering movement.

The AT-ST was manufactured by Balmorran Arms for the Galactic Empire shortly after its establishment. The vehicle requires a crew of two: a pilot and a gunner. Its armaments consist of two twin-blaster cannons and a concussion grenade launcher that can fire homing projectiles. Its armour is strong enough to make it impervious to small arms fire, but starship-grade weapons can severely damage them. As walking vehicles, AT-ST's are susceptible to "trip hazards". During the Battle of Endor, several fell victim to primitive traps set by the Ewoks and one walker was even hijacked when the Wookiee Chewbacca and a group of Ewoks boarded it from above, swinging down from the trees and forcing the walker's top hatch open. Since its humiliating defeat at Endor, the Imperial Remnant ceased deployment of AT-ST's on heavily forested planets.
