The Buton is a pig-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. It makes its one and only appearance in the 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, guarding Eggman's base in Gimmick Mountain Zone.
The Buton appears very similar to the Ball Hog, having the same type of body structure. It has a grey-coloured body with dark orange spots on its nose and belly. Unlike the Ball Hog, Buton has no weapons and will only jump from side to side, posing little threat. Sonic can easily defeat the Buton with either a spin jump or rolling attack.
