The V-B62010 Mobile Fortress, also called the Spider, is a giant combat robot that appears as a boss in Binary Domain. It is a gargantuan autonomous weapons platform that moves around on multiple legs, is heavily armed and armoured. It was developed by Japan's Ministry of Homeland Affairs to defend the country from potential invasion.
Capabilities[]
The Spider is massive in size, capable of easily trampling a group of enemy soldiers with its numerous large legs. It is heavily armoured and can easily withstand any attacks to its main body, yet despite its size and weight, it is also remarkably nimble. In the event that any of its legs are disabled, the Spider can still move with reliable speed and stability with its remaining limbs. Even if reduced to a single functioning leg, it will continue to hop around and attack.
The Spider's underbelly is laden with multiple targeting sensors and machine guns to match. Any enemy combatant that gets underneath the Spider is sure to meet a quick end as multiple guns lock on and cut them down. The Spider can also launch bombs into the air to rain down over the surrounding terrain, destroying any enemies trying to keep their distance.
Weaknesses[]
The Spider requires multiple drive cores to function which are located on the back of each of its legs. These cores can be destroyed with prolonged automatic weapons fire or with a few rocket strikes. The Spider will become inactive when all of its legs are destroyed, though it will adapt its movements and attacks as it loses limbs.
